Visiting Inverness Day 1

Today was full of several adventures. We attempted to wake up early to go visit a castle. We didn't really get up early, but we still made it to the castle. We went to see Dunrobin castle. Holy cow it was amazing. This castle is still owned and kept up by the Duke something of Sutherland. It is amazing to see what castles actually looked like. They have managed to continue to use and preserve this castle so it looks incredible inside and out. I wasn't allowed to take any pictures inside the castle so there aren't any of the decorations or anything like that, but I was able to get some amazing pictures of the grounds outside. The castle really does look like a fairy tale!

Half of the gardens.

The other side of the gardens.

Ok, so I know I am not extremely tall, but man, that is the BIGGEST rhubarb I have EVER seen!!

The Dunrobin Castle from the back

So those shrubs you saw in the top pictures, yeah these are tunnels that go through some of them!

This gate was too pretty to not get a picture of it. Too bad the lighting isn't very good.

This is just a picture to show what side of the car the steering wheel is. It took me quite a while to get used to being on the wrong side of the road. Its a good thing I didn't drive!

After our visit to the castle, we went to visit with one of Paul's friends from the mission. We went to visit Jamie Lee Cousin and her cute little boy. It is so fun to see and meet all the people that Paul talks about from his mission.
We spent the afternoon down at the Inverness City Centre. We had some lunch, and walked the shops and visited the Inverness Castle. They restored it and it is now their town hall and what not.
This is the Inverness Castle all restored and looking nice

Just another selfie of the two of us

Now if you look closely at the purple-ish-blue-ish flowers, it looks like a giant mustache! We just had to get a picture of it!

The rest of our evening involved playing the wii with Peter Wilson. We are staying with a wonderful member from the mission and her disabled son. Peter LOVES to play the wii so we promised him we would have a wii party. We played bowling and some how he beat us! I was literally trying my best to win and Peter kicked my behind! Paul won the second and third games but I still can't get over how good at bowling Peter is. After our few games of bowling, we decided to call it an early night so we could be dapper for the next day. Before we went to bed though, we took a drive out into the country side. We turned off on this random small street just to see where it went. We ended up on top of a beautiful hill, near a small lake, in the countryside. All I have to say is Scotland is Beautiful!
